Munich, November 23, 2010 - Munich-based early-phase investor mic AG is
taking a stake in a Welsh company for the first time. With Rogue
Resolutions Ltd., mic AG is adding another company from the medical sector
to its portfolio of 11 technology firms.
After two investments in the medical and healthcare sector - neuroConn GmbH
in 2006 and 4DForce GmbH in 2009 - mic AG is investing in another company
servicing the extremely fast-growing market of non-invasive neurology. 'We
have identified perfect synergies with our existing portfolios, and are now
able to address a market that is worth several billion dollars', says CEO
Claus-Georg Müller.
From research to bedside
'Tremendous progress has been made in brain research in recent years. This
progress will now be made accessible to everyone and help many people
through pain-free treatment methods', he continues. For example, using the
latest research, certain forms of ADHD, migraine, tinnitus and epilepsy can
be treated without medication. Rehabilitation after strokes can also be
improved dramatically. These quick treatments - which have no side-effects
- can provide a much better quality of life.
Complete systems for innovative treatment methods
This form of non-invasive neurological treatment requires complex systems
consisting of a stimulator, EEG machine and navigation software. Rogue
Resolutions Ltd. - which was founded as a joint venture in cooperation with
neuroConn GmbH and Rogue Research Inc. - will be responsible for marketing
these complete systems globally. While neuroConn GmbH is a leader in the
production of stimulators and EEG machines, the Canada-based Rogue Research
Inc. is a leading manufacturer of neurological navigation software. With
these complete systems, customers are offered considerable added value. The
partner companies of Rogue Resolutions Ltd. can therefore significantly
increase sales.
