German Gref has Spoken at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of
Sberbank
June 3, 2011, Moscow - German Gref, President and Chairman of the Board of
Sberbank of Russia, has spoken at the Annual General Meeting of
Shareholders of Sberbank.
'Sberbank became one of the TOP-15 world banks in terms of net profit in
2010', Sberbank Head declared. 'Dear shareholders, you own the shares in
one of the most profitable banks around the globe'.
German Gref stated that Sberbank brought 5 trillion rubles into the
economy, 737 billion of them having been allocated to the public and 4,357
billion to companies in 2010.
The bank's assets grew by 20%, customer loans increased by 12% and deposits
went up by 27% in 2010.
According to German Gref, two thirds of the economically active Russian
public use Sberbank bank cards. Sberbank emitted 50 million bank cards and
the total number of cards increased by 29% in 2010.
'In 2010, Sberbank launched innovational products on the investment market
- the first Russian depositary receipts program to be ever created and the
first foreign state ruble bonds issue in history', Sberbank Head stated.
'Employees are the ultimate value for Sberbank', German Gref emphasized. He
shared that 222 thousand employees of the bank had received corporate
program training and 100% staff members had got insured against accidents
and severe illnesses in 2010.
Concluding his statement, Sberbank Head thanked the shareholders for their
cooperation and support.
The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Sberbank is broadcast on the
Internet for the first time. The webcast takes place at the website of RIA
Novosti news agency (www.rian.ru) and at Sberbank website
(www.sberbank.ru).
The issues on the meeting agenda include annual report approval, profit
distribution, dividend payments for 2010, Supervisory Board election,
President and Board Chairman election along with other issues.
