Marathon Petroleum Corporation to Announce 2011 Fourth-Quarter and Year-End Financial Results Feb. 1

FINDLAY, Ohio, Jan. 18, 2012 - Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: MPC)
announced today that it will host a conference call on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 10
a.m. EDT to provide an update on company operations and to discuss 2011 fourth-
quarter and year-end financial results, which will be released earlier that day.
MPC participants will be Gary Heminger, president and chief executive officer;
Garry Peiffer, executive vice president of Corporate Planning and Investor &
Government Relations; Don Templin, senior vice president and chief financial
officer; and C. Michael Palmer, senior vice president of Supply, Distribution
and Planning. The call will be hosted by Pam Beall, vice president, Investor
Relations and Government & Public Affairs.
