RIB Software AG continues its upward trend with iTWO BIM ERP
Technology company RIB Software announces preliminary and unaudited results
for financial year 2011
- International software turnover with iTWO BIM* ERP up by 91.7%
- More and more SMEs in Germany are discovering BIM 5D: significant 100%
rise in software sales
- Earnings before taxes up by 7.7% (EUR 12.6 m) - Margin above 35% for
first time (35.9%)
STUTTGART, 28 February 2012. In 2011, RIB Software AG (ISIN DE000A0Z2XN6),
who has been described as the global leader in BIM ERP, was once again able
to increase the record result of the previous year by 7.7%. CEO Thomas
Wolf: 'In a year characterised by economic uncertainties and restrained
growth around the globe, we have cautiously adapted our investments
accordingly in the building up of new markets.' On the other hand, BIM ERP
solutions, like LEED** before, are developing into the megatrend in the
global construction industry. The building and construction industry with
an estimated volume of USD 12.7 trillion in 2020 (= 14% of global GDP) will
probably invest up to 1% a year (USD 127 bn) in IT in the coming years.
Governments, investors, property developers, engineers and general
contractors are gradually beginning to switch their technical ERP systems
to BIM ERP systems. Wolf continues: 'We expect the global breakthrough of
BIM technology in the next twelve months.'
With the successful phase II deals with top global construction companies -
including India's GMR Infrastructure Limited, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd,
Malaysia, and Bilfinger Berger SE - international software sales with iTWO
BIM ERP increased significantly by 91.7% to EUR 2.3 m (2010: EUR 1.2 m).
There was particularly large demand for BIM technology in the growth region
of Asia.
According to the preliminary, unaudited results, sales revenues were up by
0.9% to EUR 35.1 m (previous year: EUR 34.8 m), while software revenues
with iTWO BIM ERP improved by 7.7% to EUR 8.4 million (2010: EUR 7.8 m).
Specifically, software sales with international customers rose by 91.7% to
EUR 2.3 m (2010: EUR 1.2 m), underlining the positive development in the
new international markets.
After the early switch to iTWO BIM ERP by several leading construction
companies in Germany, demand for iTWO BIM ERP has risen among small and
medium-sized companies particularly. Software sales in this target group
rose 100% to EUR 1.8 m (2010: EUR 0.9 m). All in all, software revenues
increased by 0.6% to EUR 16.3 m (2010: EUR 16.2 m).
EBITDA (before IPO costs of 3.9 m) was EUR 15.3 m (2010: EUR 14.5 m),
achieving a margin of 43.6% for the first time (2010: 41.7%). Adjusted by
the costs of the IPO in 2011, the result before taxes improved by 7.7% to
EUR 12.6 m (2010: EUR 11.7 m). It marks the first time that a profit margin
before taxes of above 35% has been achieved (35.9%).
Michael Sauer, CFO of the RIB Group: 'The first weeks of this financial
year have turned out to be very promising. RIB has already signed another
phase II order for iTWO BIM ERP with Heinrich Schmid of Reutlingen, a
leading national and international provider of high-skilled craftsmanship.
This is founded on a well-filled pipeline that we have built up nationally
and internationally.'
RIB Software AG will publish its 2011 Annual Report on Thursday 22 March. A
telephone conference for analysts and investors will be held on this day at
11:00 CET.
