Riverstone Resources Inc. (TSX-V: RVS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Carter as Vice President – Engineering effective March 1, 2012

“We are very pleased to have Mr. Carter join the Riverstone team”, commented Dwayne L. Melrose, President & COO of Riverstone. “Mr. Carter brings to Riverstone a proven track record for operating and constructing projects in developing countries. This will serve the company well as it moves to leverage greater shareholder value from its growing resource base while proceeding towards production. I look forward to working with Peter as a member of the management team”.

Mr. Carter holds a diploma in Mining Technology from BCIT and a BSc in Mining Engineering from the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology (Montana Tech) in Butte, Montana. In 2006, he earned an Executive MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He has over 25 years experience in the mining industry with various assignments in engineering, production management, and project development with an emphasis on surface mining operations.

In 1994, following eight years at copper and gold operations in Canada and the US, Mr. Carter joined Centerra Gold Inc. where he was involved in the construction and start-up of the Kumtor Gold Mine in Kyrgyzstan. There he directed the re-design of the feasibility mine plan to establish Kumtor as a 600,000 oz/yr producer and rose to the position of Mining Manager. Later, as Operations Manager for the company’s Boroo Gold Project in Mongolia he helped oversee construction and led a successful mid-winter start-up allowing the project to exceed planned annual gold production of 200,000 oz/yr.

As a project manager, Mr. Carter has overseen permitting and feasibility studies for both hardrock and heap leach gold projects in Canada and overseas. His technical expertise extends to reserve estimation, open pit mine design, mineral processing, and tailings management. He has a proven track record of adding value to existing and developing projects through a focus on planning, safety, and efficient, cost-effective operation.
