RAK Marine Announces Listing Debut on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange
Offers opportunity for investors to participate in global marine operations
RAK Marine International, Inc. (“RAK” or the “Company”) (Frankfurt:6RK) is pleased to announce the listing of its shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. It intends to upgrade its listing to the general entry standards on the Frankfurt Exchange this year. The Company expects to achieve the listing requirements for the general entry standard in the second quarter of 2012.
RAK is a Canadian ship repair business with an innovative vision to provide a one stop shop for vessel owners ranging from small to military contracts. What makes it different is its diversified business model which the Company is aiming to capitalize on during 2012.
Industry research focused on the ship repair industry has identified that cost cutting, productivity programs and a flexible management approach to service vessels are the main competitive drivers for a business such as RAK. RAK believes that business consolidation, tightening regulatory regimes, and changing policies regarding vessel standards and maintenance are among the main drivers of the industry. A growing number of older vessels and larger bulk fleets is underpinning the demand for repair and maintenance.
The Company anticipates using its current cash on hand and seeking additional funding for general corporate purposes, including the completion of the set up of its new headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the advancement of its business model worldwide. Honolulu is expected to provide numerous opportunities for RAK, as there is limited access to marine supplies on the Hawaiian Islands.
