Poland’s Ministry of Regional Development receives the European Knowledge Award 2012
At the 7th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2012 (March 19 – 21, 2012) the European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law in Berlin awarded the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Poland with the European Knowledge Award 2012.
(firmenpresse) - The European Knowledge Award under the patronage of the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Mrs Androulla Vassiliou was awarded by the European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law this year for the second time. Mr. Christoph Brauner, the Managing Director of the Academy presented the prize to the winners. The Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Poland was appointed the winner of this year’s Knowledge Award for its exceptional efforts in training its staff on topics dealing with EU Funds. The Ministry was responsible for coordinating the work of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union within the area of Cohesion Policy. As such it contributed to one of the most successful presidencies Europe has had. Poland assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2011.
“It is my great pleasure and I feel deeply honored that this Award has been given to us and that the Academy acknowledged our efforts in doing our job in the best possible way.”, said Ms. Anita Wesołowska, Deputy Director of the Managing Department for Competitiveness and Innovation Programmes of Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Poland, who received the Award during the festive ceremony on behalf of the Ministry together with her Colleagues, Ms. Katarzyna Przybylska and Mr.Igor Kamienski from the Department for ESF Management.
The European Knowledge Award, granted annually by the European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law, carries a value of 10K Euro in trainings. Its aim is to encourage the efforts of the participating institutions and organisations in training their employees in order to achieve a high level of proficiency among staff members.
About the 7th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2012:
The 7th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2012, organised by the European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law, took place in Hotel Ramada, Berlin – Alexanderplatz from 19th – 21st March 2012. More than 430 participants form all European countries debated on improved management and implementation of EU Funds in the current period, as well as on the future challenges in the next funding period.
Speakers from the European Commission, the European Court of Auditors, the European Investment Fund, the European Investment Bank, as well as from the state and regional administrations of the Member States presented their experiences with practical examples and case studies within three intensive conference days.
