SpareBank 1 SMN: Expiry of subscription period for the rights offering

The subscription period for SpareBank 1 SMN's rights offering expires today,
Monday 26 March 2012 at 1730 hours (CET).
Any subscription rights not exercised or sold by the expiry of the subscription
period will lapse and cease to carry any value. Holders of allotted or acquired
subscription rights must, in order to subscribe for new equity certificates,
deliver the correctly completed subscription form to:
* SpareBank 1 Markets by fax on 24 14 74 01,
* SpareBank 1 SMN Markets by fax on 73 58 64 48 eller
* Swedbank First Securities by fax on 23 23 80 11.
Subscribers who are Norwegian citizens may also subscribe for New Equity
Certificates through the VPS online subscription system (by following the link
on www.sb1markets.no, www.smn.no/info or www.first.no which will redirect the
subscriber to the VPS online subscription system). For further information, see
the prospectus dated 8 March 2012.
