Diakonhjemmet Hospital outsources its IT operations to EVRY
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
(Oslo, 16 April 2012) EVRY, formerly EDB ErgoGroup, is to take over the
operation of the Diakonhjemmet Hospital's ICT platform. The hospital's ICT
systems will be updated over the course of 2012 to provide faster and more
streamlined operating services. The agreement for continuing operating services
runs to 2017.
EVRY has presented a solution that represents complete and unified renewal of
the hospital's ICT operations. Updating the hospital's ICT systems involves
upgrading the ICT infrastructure and solutions, as well as an entirely new
electronic working day for the hospital's employees. EVRY will also deliver a
state-of-the-art telephony platform.
The solution gives the hospital's employees access to all the applications and
programs they need from a single desktop. The desktop is independent of the
device used, so users will have the same access from normal PCs, laptops or
other devices such as tablets. The solution provides co-ordinated communication
which streamlines dialogue between employees in different departments and levels
of the organisation. In order to ensure close and good dialogue with the users
of the IT systems, EVRY will provide 24/7 customer service.
The agreement provides for Diakonhjemmet Hospital to outsource the operation of
its IT systems and the service centre related to its IT operations to EVRY. EVRY
will take over the employees who currently work in IT operations and service as
part of the hospital's e-health department.
"We have not found it possible to keep fully up-to-date with the pace of ICT
development. This means that we now need a major upgrade and significant
investment in this area. Establishing a new state-of-the-art ICT platform is an
important strategic step for the hospital", comments Morten Skjørshammer, CEO
of Diakonhjemmet Hospital.
EVRY has extensive experience in operating IT systems of crucial importance to
society as a whole, and also has specialised experience in ICT operations for
hospitals, including St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim. The contract with
Diakonhjemmet Hospital represents an important step in EVRY's focus on e-health.
"We will deliver a solution that will streamline everyday tasks for the
hospital's employees, and release time and resources for patient care. The
agreement with Diakonhjemmet Hospital is a vital part of our initiative towards
Health sector in Norway", comments CEO Terje Mjøs at EVRY.
The parties also intend to work together on evaluating other projects that may
help to improve efficiency and save costs.
