The Flensburg-based broadband provider mr. net services GmbH&Co. KG has
decided in favor of euromicron systems, one of the euromicron Group's
system houses, to implement a broadband network for supplying Internet
services to 28 communities in northeastern Schleswig-Holstein.
Hamburg / Hanover, April, 2012 - The Hamburg branch office of
euromicron systems GmbH, one of the euromicron Group's system houses, is to
support mr. net services as the service provider in delivering broadband to
a total of 28 communities in northeastern Schleswig-Holstein. euromicron
systems will be responsible for constructing the passive infrastructure
(excluding the empty pipe network) and the more than 60 multifunctional
cabinets, including the active DSLAM components. euromicron systems was
also tasked with providing services, which the system house has already
delivered successfully in the past as part of several broadband projects.
The two companies have signed an agreement to this effect.
The products of mr. net services, which have download bandwidths of up to
50 Mbit/s, are marketed under the name Fiete.Net. Eugen Kölling and Oliver
Pfeiffer, Managing Directors of mr. net services GmbH&Co. KG, stressed
upon conclusion of the agreement: 'Over the past months of working with
euromicron, we have come to respect its great efficiency and proficiency,
so we are sure that we've found the ideal partner to implement Fiete.Net.'
Marc Lützenkirchen, Managing Director of euromicron systems, is delighted
at the partnership: 'This contract will enable euromicron to again
demonstrate its expertise in broadband expansion.'
mr. net services and the Broadband Special-Purpose Association invest in
the region's future
DSL availability now plays a major role, especially in attracting companies
to set up business in a region, as well as in the private sphere. That is
why the three authorities Hüttener Berge, Dänischer Wohld and
Dänischenhagen have pooled forces to create the Broadband Special-Purpose
Association (BZV). Apart from the 3 authorities, the total of 28
communities involved will bear part of the investment costs. In addition,
the project will be financed from state and EU funding. The 180 km empty
pipe network will be installed by the Broadband Special-Purpose Association
and leased to mr. net services. On behalf of mr. net services, euromicron
systems will erect multifunctional cabinets throughout the fiber-optic
network and connect the optical fibers via the cabinets to the cable
distribution boxes of Deutsche Telekom. Further transport to the building
is implemented by means of conventional copper connections.
A total of approximately 15,000 households in Hüttener Berge, Dänischer
Wohld and Dänischenhagen will benefit from having a broadband connection.
What usually failed in rural regions due to the high investment costs is
now being made possible by Fiete.Net in northeastern Schleswig-Holstein.
