Billericay Broker Wins 'Young Broker of the Year' for Anglia
(firmenpresse) - MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 05/28/12 -- An account executive from the Billericay branch of Swinton Commercial, a leading broker, has been announced as the regional winner of BIBA's Young Broker of the Year Award.
Steve Coughlin, who joined Swinton Commercial two years ago, was named as the awards' regional winner for Anglia for 2012.
BIBA's Young Broker of the Year Award recognises young brokers for their performance and contribution to broking, and encourages commitment to the future and professionalism of the insurance industry.
Steve, 30, joined as an account handler in 2010, and soon stood out for his skill and dedication at the branch - something which led to his promotion to commercial account executive in August 2011.
Before joining Swinton, Steve worked as a commercial account handler at Leagold Miller, a commercial insurance broker in Barkingside, Ilford, for six months. He also worked for six months as a senior technician at online insurance provider, Alan Blunden & Co, a residential and commercial let insurance specialist.
Steve, who is originally from the Wirral, Merseyside, said of his achievement: "It's a great feeling to have this kind of recognition from BIBA, which is one of the most prestigious accolades a broker can hope for."
Steve was nominated for Young Broker of the Year by Sarah Gleeson, regional centre manager for Swinton Commercial's Billericay branch.
Steve added: "Working for Swinton Commercial has provided me with invaluable experience, helping me to hone my brokering skills, working alongside some of the most talented professionals in the industry. I am delighted to receive the award and would like to thank both Sarah and John for putting my name forward - and recognising my hard work."
