Keeps Microsoft Project schedules streamlined while integrating unlimited external information
TPG The Project today announced TPG ProjectDetails, its new product to extend the functionality of Microsoft Project. TPG ProjectDetails gathers detailed information from external lists and databases and displays them together with the corresponding project task. This enables project staff to work on their lists outside of Microsoft Project, while project managers have all relevant details – such as the current status of a task – centralized within Microsoft Project. As the information is presented in structured tabs, the overall schedule stays streamlined and easy to read. TPG ProjectDetails is the first product of its kind on the market and is available immediately.

(firmenpresse) - In Microsoft Project, extensive task lists usually need to be integrated into the plan in the form of additional project tasks. For the project manager, this makes the plan unnecessarily bloated and hard to read. TPG ProjectDetails, the new product from TPG The Project Group, resolves this issue by providing information relevant to each project task in a structured system within Microsoft Project.
An example of the way TPG ProjectDetails can be used is for details of how a project task is progressing. The status or progress of a project is often shown as a percentage of completion, yet this lacks precision. TPG ProjectDetails provides a better alternative in that task lists for project tasks, which are created externally, can be assigned to a specific task within Microsoft Project. By viewing the number of completed tasks in the list, the project manager has a much clearer idea of how the relevant project task is really progressing.
Another advantage of TPG ProjectDetails is that team members and project managers can continue to work independently of each other with their own data in external lists. Project managers can access up-to-date information about the status of a task at any time, as well as descriptions of risks or problems and additional documents. The familiar tab layout structures the information clearly and can be configured to suit the project manager’s needs. As a result, the schedule itself stays streamlined and easy to read.
On a technical level TPG ProjectDetails is available with finished interfaces to SQL, SharePoint, and the Team Foundation Server. Further data sources can be integrated with customized interfaces. There is no limit to the number of lists the product can display. If required, task status and other data can be aggregated and imported from the external lists into the project plan. TPG ProjectDetails is compatible with Microsoft Project 2003, 2007 and the new version 2010.
