Amendments regarding foreigners’ entering and transiting Ukraine with validity from the 15th of May 2009

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of May 6th 2009 in amendments No. 445 determined the following:



(firmenpresse) - Foreigners in Ukraine with visa regime obligation:

Those foreign nationals can stay during the time indicated in the valid visa, but no more than 90 days within 180 days counting from the date of first entry. Previously no 180 days period was defined and no with first entry counting was applied.

Foreigners in Ukraine with no-visa regime obligation:

Those foreign nationals can stay no more than 90 days within 180 days counting from the date of first entry. Previously foreigners from WTO member countries were allowed to stay no more than 180 days during 1 year.


Additionally from May 15th 2009 a list of countries became valid which demands financial coverage of their citizen while staying in Ukraine. This list does not contain EU, EFTA and North American countries but foremost developing countries. Feel free to ask for the current list of countries and details for the financial coverage obligations.
