SGS Korea Supports Manufacturers in Obtaining Korea Certification-Safety (KCs) Mark for Pressure Vessels
SGS Korea has been authorized by the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) to arrange Korea Certification-Safety (KCs) Mark for pressure vessels to be imported into Korea.
SGS Korea Authorized to Arrange Korea Certification-Safety for Pressure Vessels (firmenpresse) - Manufacturers who want to import and sell pressure vessels in the Korean marketplace are required to obtain approval, in the form of a Korea Certification-Safety (KCs) Mark from Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA). SGS Korea received authorization form KOSHA to arrange this legally compulsory certification mark that must appear on every pressure vessel with a design pressure above 0.2 MPa (2 kgf/cm2).
The KCs Certification Process
The certification process, with AA involvement, eliminates redundant procedures and helps companies to save both time and costs. A contract with an AA or AA affiliate (EA) is placed by the manufacturer or importer. The evaluation procedure itself incorporates the documentary assessment (DA) and the product assessment (PA). The documentary assessment includes the verification of the technical documentation together with the design appraisal and commences before the fabrication starts. The product assessment is an individual verification, during which process each pressure vessel is inspected separately and ends before it leaves the works.
After reviewing DA/PA results, the AA prepares all required documents and applies for release from the regional or area office of the KOSHA. When KOSHA confirms the release of the DA/PA documents, the AA can apply for a KCs certificate. The KOSHA processes the physical identification and the final assessment of the imported pressure vessel and awards, through the AA the manufacturer or importer, the KCs certificate to approve the KCs Mark which the manufacturer can attach to the pressure vessel.
