SGS Acquires Chinese Tianjin Tianbao Construction Materials testing Co, Ltd.
SGS has acquired the Chinese construction materials testing company, Tianjin Tianbao Construction Materials testing Co, Ltd., a testing company with extensive experience in the industrial infrastructure and building sectors.
(firmenpresse) - SGS has acquired Tianjin Tianbao Construction Materials Testing Co, Ltd., a company involved in the construction industry. Tianjun Tianbao employs fifteen experts and was founded in 2007.
SGS is pleased to acquire this asset, not least because Tianjin Tianbao is Tianjin Binhai Development Zone’s leading construction materials testing laboratory – an important accolade considering Tianjin Binhai Development Zone is China’s third largest economic development zone after Shenzen and Shanghai Pudong. The company is also the only testing laboratory to be located in the Airport Industry Park of the Development Zone.
Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS, emphatically declared his enthusiasm for the acquisition. "This new acquisition falls in line with our strategy to position SGS as a domestic player in China," he said. He also stated that Tianjin Tianbao Construction Materials Testing Co, Ltd. has the accreditations and qualifications required to provide SGS with direct access to the rapidly growing Tianjin market and, as he explained, “will set a solid platform for growth in other segments including petrochemicals and transportation."

SGS’s Construction Materials Testing laboratories are designed to provide independent testing and inspection, as well as advice on the quality of construction materials and information on requirements for the import and export of construction materials.
All SGS Materials Testing laboratories are accredited in accordance with DIN EN, ISO/IEC 17025 and as inspection body TYPE A in accordance with ISO 17020.
