Comprehensive Supervision for Spanish Highway ‘Eix Diagonal’ Improvement Works Provided by SGS
For the road works on the Spanish highway ‘Eix Diagonal’ SGS has provided its supervision services. The project is worth 375 million Euros and covers a route of 70km between the Pyrenees and the coast near Barcelona.
SGS Conducts Comprehensive Supervision for Spanish Highway ‘Eix Diagonal’ Improvement Works(firmenpresse) - SGS has been providing comprehensive supervision services for the Spanish highway ‘Eix Diagonal’ road works, including quality assurance, quality control, construction supervision and project monitoring services.
The goal of the project is the improvement of road access and connections between the coast and the rural regions. In three years the works which are carried out by the Spanish construction company Dragados are planned to be finished.
During the construction of the highway there will be some significant challenges, including the problem of transversal drainage and the erection of structures required to cross rivers and travel both under and over existing highways, roads and railways.
Other major works include the building of three false tunnels, six tunnels and a composite bridge of steel and concrete over the Rajadell River.
