SGS testing of Plumbing Products for Drinking Water Safety Compliance
In March 2011, SGS China has been approved as an NSF/ANSI 61 capable technical services provider by the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials.
The Drinking Water Safety requirements are becoming increasingly critical in global regions.(firmenpresse) - In March 2011, SGS was successfully audited by the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) on NSF 61 capability as a technical services provider in the health effects to verify plumbing products that are in contact with drinking water. Our US lab located in Fairfield, NJ has also NSF 61 accreditation.
As well as testing for compliance to the NSF 61 Health Effects of Drinking Water System Components (http://www.nsf.org/business/mechanical_plumbing/index.asp?program=MechanicalPluSysCom), SGS provides testing and certification services for the U.S. ‘Lead Free Act’ (S. Bill 3874), which was signed into law by US President Obama in January 2011, requiring all states to reduce the lead content in plumbing products, in addition to existing AB 1953 California regulations.
SGS teams are also working on similar services for products shipped to European countries such as the UK, France and Germany, to meet their respective local safe drinking water programs (WRAS, ACS and DVGW). Drinking Water Safety requirements are becoming increasingly critical in global regions.
The SGS Plumbing Drinking Water Safety Service will help plumbing manufacturers ensure their compliance with the relevant regulations.
