STADA Group achieves strong result in 6th AOK tender in the German
generics market

Bad Vilbel, May 11, 2011 - The STADA Group achieved, in the view of the
STADA Executive Board, a strong result in the 6th round of AOK tenders of
the Allgemeinen Ortskrankenkassen (AOK) for discount agreements pursuant to
Section 130 a SGB V valid throughout Germany. Accordingly, the AOK, which
insures approx. 24 million of the total of approx. 70 million publicly
insured persons in Germany, has concluded the respective contracts with
various German STADA subsidiaries for a total of 19 active ingredients -
among them Omeprazol, the strongest product measured by sales, and
Risperidon, the third strongest product. The contracts are legally
effective, start on June 1, 2011 and have then a regular term of two years.
Eight of the active ingredients awarded are accounted for by the subsidiary
ALIUD, eight active ingredients by the sales company STADApharm, one active
ingredient by the company cell pharm, one active ingredient by the bidder
consortium ALIUD/STADApharm and one active ingredient by the bidder
consortium STADApharm/Fresenius Kabi for a range of pharmaceutical products
to be administered orally and intravenously.
Generally, the respective STADA sales company - or the respective bidder
consortium - is the single contract partner (single source) of the AOK for
these awards. In view of these presumably high-volume discount agreements
newly concluded with the AOK, the Executive Board of STADA expects that the
market share of the Group by volume in the German market will once again
rise since, in the past, STADA sales companies had already done very well
in tenders of discount agreements on a multiple-award basis (multi-source)
of other public health insurance organizations, such as in those of
spektrum K, the DAK, the GWQ and the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK). STADA
thus now has discount agreements with almost all public health insurance
organizations.
The overall strong results achieved by STADA in the tender rounds - both
with the AOK and with other public health insurance organizations - are
also due to the optimization of the procurement chain already carried out
as part of the implementation of the Group-wide project 'STADA - build the
future', which also aims at an acceleration of the continuous cost
optimization. With an increasing utilization of capacities of the Company's
own production facilities particularly also in low-cost countries as well
as a further optimization of purchase prices, the sales companies involved
in the tenders continuously reduce their production costs and can thus
provide even more competitive offers in the tenders.
