Sanoma Centralises Its ICT Services

The Sanoma Group is centralising its ICT services. The arrangement covers
certain parts of all of the Sanoma Group's operations in Finland and optionally
part of the operations in the Baltic countries. Sanoma's partner is IT service
company Tieto.
The centralisation process concerns the Group's shared administrative services,
such as financial management systems and email and intranet solutions.
Workstation and on-site support services, as well as equipment rooms and data
communications operations, will also be centralised as applicable.
This arrangement, which is significant in scope in Finland, is in line with
Sanoma's strategy to improve its organisation constantly and to seek cost
savings and synergy benefits in different operations.
"The centralisation of ICT services enhances the efficiency and consistency of
our operating methods on the national level. It also enables shared ICT
services," says Päivi Hokkanen, Chief Information Officer of Sanoma.
The transfer of services will begin on 2 September 2010 and last for over a
year. As a result of the arrangement, five people will transfer employment from
Sanoma to Tieto Finland. The operations that will be transferred represent
Tieto's core business, which offers a solid foundation for further development.
