Approval of Rederi AB TransAtlantic's Acquisition of Trans Viking by the Lenders Concerned

The lenders concerned have approved Rederi AB TransAtlantic (publ)'s acquisition
of the outstanding shares in the companies included in Trans Viking - the joint
venture within the business area Offshore/Icebreaking, which is owned in equal
shares by Rederi AB TransAtlantic and the Norwegian company Kistefos AS, through
its subsidiary Viking Supply Ships AS.
The transaction was announced by TransAtlantic on August 13, 2010. Further,
TransAtlantic announced on September 7, 2010 that the relevant competition
authority has approved the acquisition. The transaction is intended to be
effected by way of issuance in kind, at which payment shall be made by issuance
of new A and B shares in TransAtlantic, and is conditioned upon a decision by
the Extraordinary General Meeting in TransAtlantic to be held on September
22, 2010.
