Telko first safety and quality assessed chemical industry distributor in Russia

Telko Ltd, part of Aspo Group, is the first SQAS ESAD assessed distributor in
the chemical industry in Russia. SQAS, Safety and Quality Assessment System, is
a European-wide impartial assessment system for distributors in the chemical
industry, developed by CEFIC, the European Chemical Industry Council, in co-
operation with FECC, the European Association of Chemical Distributors.

The SQAS ESAD assessment considers health, safety, environmental, and quality
issues. According to Kettunen, the assessment also acts as a risk management
tool.
"The common European ESAD assessment aims to decrease the need of companies to
their own overlapping assessments for selecting business partners," he says.
Telko is an expert company in plastic raw materials and industrial chemicals,
and its strategy is to act as a reliable link between companies manufacturing
plastic raw materials and chemicals and the companies using them.
"Our objective in Russia is to continue profitable growth, and later this year,
we will open two more offices in major Russian cities," Kettunen says.

The assessment of Telko's Finnish and Russian operations was carried out by the
consultancy firm Antero von Bagh.
