Top Gulf Region Project Developer Chooses ITWO from RIB
RIB Software AG Wins New Customer in Saudi Arabia
RIYADH and STUTTGART, August 15th, 2011. The technology company RIB
Software AG has just won one of the top EPC, infrastructure and utility
management companies in the Gulf region as a new customer. In July, project
developer Alfanar placed an order with RIB Software AG for their first iTWO
software licences.
By implementing RIB's integrated digital engineering and construction
software solution iTWO Business Suite, the company aims to consolidate its
leading market position in the Middle East. Alfanar's strategic goal is to
become the leading EPC contractor for infrastructure management in the Gulf
region, particularly for power and water projects, as the Management
emphasises.
Transparent time and cost management is essential for the project
developer, who realises EPC and infrastructure projects in Egypt, India,
Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates. The customer base of the
Alfanar Group is a balanced mix of public sector and private enterprises.
The quality demands of the projects engineered and executed by Alfanar in
the power industry are tremendously high and usually involve extremely
tight time frames. This dictates highly structured planning from the
beginning to meet the project schedule and avoid budget overrun.
According to Alfanar's Management, the building of a companywide knowledge
tank is vital for supporting teamed engineering and construction activities
within the entire company. To achieve this, Alfanar is currently
implementing iTWO Business Suite and SAP throughout the company. The
implementation is to be completed by the first quarter of next year.
