ALLSCHWIL/BASEL, SWITZERLAND - 22 March 2011 - Actelion Ltd (SIX: ATLN)
announced today that it is to make a donation of 25 million Japanese Yen
(approx. 280,000 Swiss Francs) following the devastating earthquake and
subsequent tsunami in Japan. To ensure that the donation reaches those most in
need of this assistance, Actelion has asked Satoshi Tanaka, President of
Actelion Pharmaceuticals Japan, to select the most appropriate organizations to
receive the donation.
In addition to this initial donation, Actelion has called upon its employees
around the globe to make donations. Actelion has committed to match these
donations from its own funds.
Currently, Actelion's ordering system in Japan is running as normal and the
company is committed to maintaining a stable drug supply. In addition, contact
opportunities have been set-up to assist healthcare professionals and patients
