RAUTAKESKO LTD PRESS RELEASE 15.4.2011 AT 10.00 1(2)
Rautakesko will tomorrow open Russia's 13th K-rauta store, which is the tenth K-
rauta in St. Petersburg. The new K-rauta Komendantsky is located in the fast
developing new residential area of Primorsky District in north-western St.
Petersburg.
- Business in Russia is recovering from the decline of housing construction,
says Mikko Nissinen, Rautakesko's Country Director for Russia. There is a great
need for construction and renovation. The new K-rauta Komendantsky is located in
a rapidly developing area around which several residential areas and new blocks
of flats are being built. Moreover, some 5,000 new homes are rising in the
immediate neighbourhood of the new K-rauta and some of them have already been
handed over to the buyers.
In Russia, flats and homes are mainly sold unfinished without interior
decoration, which provides significant sales potential.
- Here, homes are supposed to be finished by the buyers, says Mikko Nissinen.
Our new store is a modern, diversified and service-focused department store
providing products for building, renovation, interior decoration and gardening,
and will satisfy the local demand for services. We offer our customers wide
selections and services, such as free-of-charge interior decoration designing,
installation services and home delivery on the day of purchase.
The showroom area of the store presents a large number of interior decoration
solutions and displays. The store selection includes more than 30,000 different
building, interior decoration and gardening products. The variety of solutions
and displays in the showroom area help customers generate ideas, make plans and
decisions.
K-rauta Komendantsky employs over 100 people throughout the year. The new store
has a floor area of 6,500 m(2), of which 5,700 m(2) is heated sales area. The
outdoor selling area is 2,000 m(2).
Next, Rautakesko will expand its operations in the Moscow area. Two more K-rauta
stores are being built in Moscow in the latter part of the year, and ten more
new K-rauta stores are planned to be opened in 2012 - 2015.
