Pöyry strengthens its position in the Swiss rail engineering consultancy market

Pöyry has expanded its presence in the Swiss market by acquiring pkag Paul
Keller Ingenieure AG, a highly specialized engineering consultancy company
active in the provision of electrical engineering and consultancy services,
particularly for rail, metro, tunnels and other complex traffic systems. pkag
was founded 1973 and today employs 42 highly specialised experts. It had net
sales in 2010 close to EUR 4.7 million and the company will be consolidated into
Pöyry's Urban and Mobility business group as of 1.5.2011. The parties have
agreed not to disclose the transaction price.
pkag is based close to Zurich and its main fields of expertise are electrical
engineering, telecommunications and power supply systems. pkag is recognized as
an important know-how carrier and considered as the Swiss market leader in this
expanding sector. The company also increases Pöyry's focus on complex and
sophisticated telecommunications for sustainable mobility solutions. The
company's current office network will also allow Pöyry to expand regionally into
Southern and Western Switzerland. pkag will contribute to Pöyry's global
services and large projects.
With this acquisition Pöyry continues to grow its position as a leading
consultant in the engineering sector in Switzerland and Pöyry's clients will
benefit from the latest state-of-the art know-how.
