Alma Media's right to use Etuovi.com trademark in online services confirmed

ALMA MEDIA'S RIGHT TO USE ETUOVI.COM TRADEMARK IN ONLINE SERVICES CONFIRMED
The Helsinki Court of Appeal ruled in December 2010 that Alma Media has the
right to use its trademark ETUOVI.COM as the brand for its online services.
Additionally, the Court of Appeal decided that Alma Media does not have a right
to use the ETUOVI.COM as the trademark of a newspaper. Both parties applied the
Supreme Court for a leave to appeal the ruling. On Alma Media's part, the
complaint would have concerned the right to use the ETUOVI.COM as the trademark
of a printed newspaper.
The Supreme Court has decided that it will not grant a leave to appeal to either
of the parties in the dispute, thus the decision of the Helsinki Court of Appeal
given in December 2010 remains unchanged.
"We are pleased with the Supreme Court decision, although we were not granted a
leave to appeal. Now the long trademark dispute has, from our perspective, come
to a satisfactory end and the claims regarding ETUOVI.COM online service are
completely dismissed. There are no obstacles for Alma Media to use its trademark
Etuovi.com as the brand for its online services, and the name of the Etuovi.com
newspaper was changed into Asuntomedia earlier. Thus, the decision of the
Supreme Court has no impact on our business," says Mr Mikko Korttila, General

Etuovi.com will continue as the most popular and best-known national housing and
real estate online service.
