K-PLUS OY PRESS RELEASE 14.09.2011 AT 10.00
The K-Group's customer magazine Pirkka has increased its readership by 50,000 to
2,968,000 according to the Finnish National Readership Survey (NRS) published on
Wednesday, 14 September. In other words, the Pirkka magazine maintains its long-
standing position as the most widely read magazine in Finland.
K-Plus Oy's Managing Director Niina Ryynänen says that also the survey results
show that the Pirkka magazine contents appeal to a wide audience.
- The most popular sections are food and cooking recipes, as well as articles
about home decoration, gardening and repairs. And the good old NiksiPirkka tips
section has retained its popularity.
This year, the Pirkka magazine has undergone a revamping in terms of appearance,
structure and contents, as development ideas brought up in the readership survey
have been implemented. Readers would like the magazine to contain more articles
about health, leisure and travel.
The reorganised Pirkka.fi is an interactive website
The Pirkka magazine is also available as an electronic version at Pirkka.fi,
which has also been revamped this year. The website now meets the needs of
modern web users, providing practical solutions for cooking, for example. The
reform increases the interactive and social functionalities of the website,
proof of which is the electronic recipe book "Oma keittiö". In September,
Pirkka.fi opened the "Pirkka Ideanurkka" service for consumers for sending
wishes concerning, for example, the Pirkka products, recipes or magazine
articles. Those who send ideas will be answered and notified if the idea is
adopted.
The Pirkka magazine section on the Pirkka.fi website offers new ideas for
living, fashion, beauty and leisure activities, as well as the K-chains' topical
K-Plussa special offers in connection with each theme. This section also
includes the Napero Club pages, legendary Pirkka tips and a photo gallery. The
responsibility pages offer ideas for more sustainable consumption and
information on the wide range of Kesko's corporate responsibility actions.
