Media Advisory: Ministers Oda and Aglukkaq to Host Luncheon With World Health Organization
(firmenpresse) - GATINEAU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/20/11 -- The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, and the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, will host a luncheon with Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Minister Oda and Minister Aglukkaq will each deliver remarks on improving the health of children and mothers locally and globally.
During the luncheon, Dr. Chan will hold a discussion on global public health issues with Dr. Brian Goldman, host of the CBC Radio program: White Coat, Black Art. This discussion will be open to media.
The luncheon will include a presentation on global child mortality, under-nutrition, and refugee and immigrant health. Dr. Tobey Audcent (CHEO/Canadian Pediatric Society) and Dr. Heather MacDonnell (CHEO) will make the presentation.
