Questions in the cable car: premiere of the Gondelquiz / Sebastian Kaufmann takes a seat beside sur-

They seem surprised, perhaps even a little intimidated at first when Sebastian Kaufmann gets out his microphone. They have met in the cable car of the trassXpress, a state-of-the-art facility taking visitors up to Schmittenhöhe. 'Heike' answers the woman sitting next to Kaufmann shyly when being asked about her name. Together with Sabine and Frank, she has come to the region from Braunshardt in Germany to spend her holidays on the 77 kilometres of pistes of the local mountain of Zell covered in deep snow right now. When they stepped into the cable car, they would never have guessed that they were about to be the first candidates of the new game show of the region: Heike, Sabine, and Frank are participating in the 'Zell am See-Kaprun Gondelquiz'.

As of recently, the first episode of the quiz can be watched on the Internet: 'Zell am See-Kaprun:TV' is the name of the online platform which has been set up by the twin towns to regularly publish short high-quality contributions - from exciting reports to information on events and the 'Gondelquiz'. Some of these web shows are hosted by Sebastian Kaufmann who has already made a name for himself as the voice of the podcast of the region. Now he presents his show from changing 'studios': there is one thing, however, that they all have in common: they are small, attached to a cable, and leave for the summits of the mountains at minute intervals. On Kitzsteinhorn, Schmittenhöhe, and Maiskogel, there are as many as 30 top-modern cable-car and lift facilities. Kaufmann is already looking forward to choosing new candidates for his little quiz among their passengers in the future. At the show's premiere it was Heike's, Sabine's, and Frank's turn.

The holidaymakers were not asked whether they wanted to participate, but the children sitting opposite them in the gondola are enthralled with the surprise and clap their hands spontaneously. And as soon as Kaufmann turns on his typically Austrian charm, his candidates lose their inhibitions. After an improvised fanfare and some laughter, Kaufmann asks his first quiz question: 'Which mountain is the highest? Kitzsteinhorn, Zugspitze or Grossglockner?' Frank and Sabine choose the Austrian mountain with an altitude of 3,798 metres above sea level. Heike decides on Germany's highest summit and thus eliminates herself.

But Sabine does not have to be disappointed. After all, the participants of the Gondelquiz do not play for millions of euros but simply for the fun of it. Kaufmann, his candidates and cameraman are aboard the trassXpress for about eight minutes. At the end of the ride and after four questions about the region of Zell am See-Kaprun, Sabine was so lucky as to win the quiz. Just like Heike and Frank, she wins a balloon, a sticker, and a yummy 'Schmitten-Schnitte' sandwich.

By now, Kaufmann has already set out again to look for new candidates for the second episode of the 'Zell am See-Kaprun Gondelquiz'. Check it out on the Internet at www.zellamsee-kaprun.tv.
