Berlin. A new website addressing the topic of AIDS, sexuality and contraception was launched on 15 September. It is available in German and English and provides free downloads. The homepage is called www.thinknegative.de. Yet what should be positive about it? Thinking negatively? And that about HIV und AIDS? It appears somewhat paradox, yet is true. The website www.thinknegative.de has been online since 15 November 2007. The page deals with the subject of HIV/AIDS, sexuality and contraception. Free downloads including pictures to colour in and concentration games. All the materials serves the purpose of raising subjects such as HIV in a relaxed manner, through playing, without pointing any fingers, yet set against a serious background. All this is achieved through speculation, discussion, painting and handicrafts. Different materials are offered depending on the age group which are supplemented on a regular basis. The web site is conceived as supplementing available AIDS material, health organizations or government bodies. It is aimed at parents, teachers or anyone engaged in youth work.
The designers of the homepage www.thinknegative.de seek to use this page to reinforce their efforts in the field of AIDS prevention and underline that HIV/AIDS is not only an important subject on World-AIDS day. The homepage was developed without any state or third party funds, rather was financed by the sale of the AIDS prevention game Think Negative!®.
