MAPAL building in Eppingen: New location with development potential

Production of actuating tools to be moved from Sinsheim to Eppingen

(PresseBox) - MAPAL Dr. Kress KG plans to build a new production and administration building in Eppingen in order to expand its manufacturing capacities for actuating tools. The current location of the MAPAL subsidiary in Sinsheim has reached its capacity limits and is therefore to be closed.
The Aalen-based family-owned company has already concluded a purchase contract with the town of Eppingen for a 2.1 hectare site. "The move to the Tiefental industrial estate in Eppingen offers us an outstanding opportunity to continue the positive economic development of the recent years," says Dr. Dieter Kress, President of MAPAL Dr. Kress KG. The plan is to build a production and administration building with a total area of around 5,000 square metres.
MAPAL is one of the world's leading manufacturers of precision tools and is a specialist for the machining of cubic parts. In Germany the company has its headquarters in Aalen and seven further production sites. Due to the growing demand for MAPAL products, the subsidiary MAPAL ISOTOOL in Sinsheim founded in 1997 has been struggling with the capacity limits for some time. A further expansion of the existing production facility was not economically viable to the extent necessary due to the limited space availability. MAPAL is therefore to move its competence centre for actuating tools to Eppingen where sufficient capacities are available for further long-term growth.
The immediate proximity to the existing site in Sinsheim and the favourable transport infrastructure both played a role in the decision in favour of Eppingen. "We can thus safeguard the jobs for our currently around 100 employees and at the same time establish the preconditions for new jobs and for a further successful corporate development," says Dr. Kress.
MAPAL is to invest around seven million euros in the new Eppingen site. Construction work for the new production facility is scheduled to start in spring 2014.
