(PresseBox) - Constance, Germany, 02/26/2015 ? Fully in line with the current big data, mobile BI and self-
service BI trend, combit Report Server 2.0 was released less than 10 months after the
release of the first version. The new version is easy to use for any type of user, always ready
to go and comes with a set of brand new developed and optimized features. Worth noting
also is the success guarantee given on the product by the manufacturer.

The combit Report Server scores points with a variety of new features. For example,
customizable report parameters now permit a variety of analyses within a report. Until now,
several report templates were needed to do this. Another highlight is the report elements
function, which acts as a central repository for frequently recurring elements that can be
accessed quickly and easily at any time.
The preview, which has been optimized for mobile devices, not only displays reports on
virtually any browser, but also permits a number of additional interactive features like intuitive
sorting or expandable regions. Apart from new export formats, such as the frequently used
export to Microsoft PowerPoint format, Report Server customers also benefit from newly
available data sources, including Google BigQuery and Google Sheets. In addition, the
quality achieved when creating barcodes has been significantly improved, guaranteeing


optimum readability. On top of that, the Report Server Designer, which is based on combit's
many award-winning and internationally popular Reporting Tool List & Label, also offers
many more user-friendly extensions such as several freely placeable report containers or the
handy checkbox object.
Report Parameters
Report parameters help, for example, to manage big data and can be created during export,
planned reports, the interactive preview and in the Designer. The datasource used can thus
be filtered in a customized, comfortable and uncomplicated manner. You can create various
evaluations (e.g. by country and date, etc.) within a report template, which previously
required several templates and hence multiple reports.
Report Elements
Report elements represent a central location where recurring items such as company logos,
General Terms and Conditions, PDF documents, images or any text can be stored. These
can be accessed quickly at any time.
Interactive Preview
The Interactive Preview function enables reports to be viewed in almost any browser, most
notably on all mobile devices as well. The user promptly receives a variety of additional
functions that are compatible with any operating system, e.g. interactive sorting or
expandable regions.
Optimized Interface
The interface of version 2.0 is optimized for display and use on smartphone, tablet and
desktop devices. It also includes many new icons and a fresh look. A report template tooltip
permits a faster overview of the contained objects without having to open them explicitly.
Microsoft PowerPoint Export
Users design their report in the Report Server Designer, execute it and export the results
directly as a PowerPoint presentation. This way, they receive the prepared presentation
based on the current data at the touch of a button.
New Data Sources
The combit Report Server incorporates a number of direct connections to all major data
sources, which now include Google BigQuery as well, allowing you to access large amounts
of data. Another new feature is the interfacing with the online spreadsheet application Google
Sheets.
New Designer Features
The full range of functions of List & Label 20 is available in the Report Server Designer,
including new features such as the ability to place multiple report containers. The Designer's
useful checkbox object is more than just a simple check mark. The newly designed "Objects"
tool window unites previously separate windows with a menu bar, thus ensuring enhanced
ergonomics.
Barcode Optimization
Optimizing barcodes for the printer resolution increases the quality of the barcode generated
usually to the best result ("A") according to ISO/IEC 15416 (depends on paper and printer
used). For inkjet printers, pixel reduction improves quality.
