Its 660 feet (i.e. 200 M) of water resistance makes it suitable for more than just recreational scuba diving.
There’s a lot of confusion people face when it comes to the Invicta crystals and no, Flame Fusion is not just a marketing gimmick. It signifies the sapphire is created artificially, as per the ways shown by the French chemist Auguste Victor Louis Verneuil, in 1893. The industry calls it the Verneuil Process, but in a more colloquial term, it is called flame fusion. The same process also creates the artificial rubies for the watch movements.
The process involves manufacturing a long column of sapphire in a Verneuil furnace by sprinkling micronized aluminum oxide through oxy-hydrogen flame burning at 2000+ degrees Celsius, which after passing through, fall below their melting point (i.e. the temperature of the flame) and fuse to crystallize in a column, on which, more crystals to form on top of it as it’s moved away from the flame vertically. Every manufacturer has its own specifications on putting to use the components, but at the end, they are sliced with diamond-tipped cutters and given the polish. A watch crystal is formed.
