Dietrich Honold occupies another 40,000 sqm in Timisoara, Romania

(PresseBox) - 09.2015 - Dietrich Honold Logistik has moved into the new factory warehouse of the Continental Group in Timisoara, Romania. The factory warehouse has an area of approx. 40,000 sqm and is operated by Dietrich-Honold in a three-shift system. The warehouse is controlled via SAP software with radio data transmission. A shuttle service has been set up from the Continental tire plant, and currently more than 10 turnarounds per day are carried out. The factory warehouse receives the production of the tire plant in Timisoara and provides direct supplies to original equipment customers. The factory warehouse is designed as a high-density block storage facility. Warehousing is carried out in special tire racks which may achieve a weight of more than 1.2 tons. The relocation became necessary because areas of the previous factory warehouse were partly used by the production division. In total, there is a further significant increase in storage capacity. Taking away from the conveyor, sorting the various tire types and buffer storing continues to take place directly in the factory. The first-class property was built by an investor on behalf of Continental and it is capable of being extended. In Timisoara, Romania, and in Sacalaz, Romania, Dietrich-Honold has currently approx. 400 employees and manages logistics activities on a storage area of approx. 100,000 sqm.
