Sweden Rally 2009

Reeling from the shock of how quick the year has passed, Stockholm opened its doors to this year’s aptly titled ‘Sweden Rally 2009!’ Held at the beautiful Scandic Infra City Hotel, the scene was set, the stage was ready, and the time ticked to midday signalling the start of the ceremony, hosted by dazzling Country Head for Sweden Melvin Mutton

.Attendees were 'Boom Boom Powed' by the sound of the Black Eyed Peas, and entertained by a pre-recorded performance from Britains Got Talent winners 'Diversity'.

Despite the horrific weather (a low 8 degrees, wind, rain, and fog), there was nothing horrific about this event, it was HOT with excitement, misty with secrecy, and showered with joy and praise.

Managing Director Mike Blane was cordially introduced to the stage, alongside Vice President Paul Burkett (who did an excellent speech on how to do good sales) including a rendition of Sweden's famous Abba song 'Mama Mia!' in which the entire audience were on their feet singing along!. One of Spain's Country Heads Olivier Blomme (discussing how to be consistent whilst maintaining high standards), UK Owner Nicci Flynn (highlighting the importance of building relationships), and UK Organisational Head Darren Dunn (advising on how to think BIG).

There was a lot to celebrate in Sweden, with Melvin proudly highlighting all the Marketing Companies that have made a huge impact on the country and business as a whole.

Awards on the day included (a full list of recipients attached below);

* Sales Achievement Awards
* Sales Excellence Awards
* Promotions to Assistant Ownership and Ownership Awards
(which was introduced by MD Mike Blane who briefly explained what it means to be an Assistant Owner)
* Administrator Achievement Awards including Administrator of the year!
* Owner Sales Merit Awards (rewarded with an exquisite Mont Blanc Pen)


* Divisional Awards including Energy Industry Award and Telco Industry Award
* Override Cheque Recipients
* Leadership Awards
* Best New Marketing Company Award
* Best Marketing Company Award 2009

Each award category was interspersed smoothly with highly entertaining and educational speeches, intently digested by all in Sweden Rally 2009 attendance. Sweden may be a small country, with a population of just over nine million people, but attendees made the noise of eighteen million people, it was that noisy, that lively, and simply electric! The biggest cheer went to VP Paul Burkett after picking up a cheque for just over EIGHT MILLION KRONERS and Best MC of the Year recipient Ronni Klemmensen!

Well done to all of Sweden’s Marketing and Sales recipients - a full list is attached below. Let’s hope Sweden continues to grow, and impacts the rest of the world with fantastic results over the course of 2010 for next year’s even bigger event!
