Munich, November 8, 2010. An investor has secured further shares of 4DForce
GmbH, a subsidiary of mic AG, at a purchase price of EUR1 million. Mic AG
still retains 75% of the subsidiary. Thus, mic AG succeeded in selling
4DForce at a price that corresponds to the company's ambitious investment
and return philosophy. 'The management of mic AG continues to believe in
the potential of its innovative subsidiary 4DForce', says mic AG's CFO,
Manuel Reitmeier.
With the financial partner on board, 4DForce shapes its future from a
position of strength. At the same time, the proceeds of the sale facilitate
the expansion of mic AG's portfolio through lucrative new investments and
investments in existing portfolio companies, respectively.
An increasing number of subsidiaries will soon reach a development phase in
which the focus shifts to profitability and a growth in sales. It is
therefore crucial for mic AG to continue supporting these companies with
competent assistance and management. With the successful construction of
the prototype EOG, 4DForce recently achieved an important development step
towards the use in a market-ready product.
In addition to the investment, mic AG managed to win over a high-ranking
marketing expert for the 4DForce team to be responsible for marketing and
organization. Axel Dietz, who was active in high positions in well-known
companies like Müller Milch and Märklin, will perfectly complement
4DForce's management team.
Negotiations for a further complete exit are at an advanced stage. 'We are
on course to achieving our goals for 2010', says Manuel Reitmeier.

The innovation company develops BCI products (Brain Computer Interface) for
the entertainment industry. An easy-to-use, wireless sensor-headset detects
brainwaves and evaluates them using custom-made software. This product
segment represents a hitherto unknown dimension for the gaming industry, as
the technology has so far only been deployed in the medical sector, and
here in neurology in particular. Another company in mic AG's portfolio,
neuroConn GmbH, focuses on the development of neurofeedback devices, and
because of their similar technology, significant development synergies
exists between both companies.
