S.A.G. Solarstrom AG secures 220 MWp module capacities for further growth
Contract with Yingli Green Energy for the purchase of photovoltaic modules
up to 2013 with a total output of 220 MWp
Freiburg, December 3, 2010. S.A.G. Solarstrom AG (German security
identification number: 702 100, ISIN: DE0007021008) has concluded a
contract for the delivery of photovoltaic modules with an initial total
capacity of 220 MWp up to 2013 with Baoding Tinawei Yingli New Energy
Resources Co. This includes a considerable amount of the new
high-performance Panda modules.
With this contract, the S.A.G. Group has now secured a large volume of
high-quality components, thus underscoring their planned further growth.
Since 2005, the S.A.G. Solarstrom AG has been working together with the
leading, vertically integrated Chinese module manufacturer Yingli Green
Energy as a system partner. With an annual production capacity of 1 GWp,
Yingli is one of the largest module manufacturers worldwide.
'Thanks to their excellent product quality and reliability, Yingli is one
of our most preferred system partners. The now secured volume of
high-quality modules, in addition to the quota that we negotiate with other
suppliers, is an important step for us towards implementing our planned
growth over the next few years,' says Dr. Karl Kuhlmann, CEO of S.A.G.
Solarstrom AG.
The long-term supply contract for modules with an initial total output of
220 MWp, is based on the market price trend. A considerable amount of these
are the new high-performance Panda modules, which exhibit a degree of
module efficiency of up to 16.2%. The remaining quota are certified module
types which have already been used successfully in various projects of the
S.A.G. Solarstrom Group in Germany and abroad.
The module capacity now agreed on with Yingli is planned for projects in
the European countries in which the S.A.G. Group operates.
Supplier audits for high quality
S.A.G. Solarstrom AG works together closely with the Technical University
of Aachen and meteocontrol GmbH to continuously test various module types
from existing suppliers and to audit new suppliers. 'We purchase components
worldwide from a small number of suppliers who meet our high quality
requirements', explains Dr. Karl Kuhlmann. 'These include Chinese, German
and North American manufacturers. The crucial factor for us is always the
quality and, in particular, the performance ratio, not the origin of a
module.'
