Fanfarlo Reveals North American Tour in Celebration of "ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT"; London-Based Collective to Hit the Road Beginning March 5th at Boston's Paradise Rock Club; Ticket Pre-Orders Get Underway Wednesday, January 11th; NPR Exclusively Premieres
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/09/12 -- In celebration of their eagerly awaited new album, "ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT," UK five-piece Fanfarlo has unveiled details of a major North American tour. The dates get underway March 5th at Boston's Paradise Rock Club and then continue through mid-April (see itinerary below). Ticket pre-sales for the trek will begin this Wednesday, January 11th via the band's website, . The first 50 tickets sold for each date will receive guaranteed early entry. All remaining tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Saturday, January 21st. The tour will also include multiple appearances at Austin, Texas' annual South by Southwest Music & Media Conference (SXSW).
This morning, NPR's All Songs Considered exclusively premiered Fanfarlo's newest music video, "Shiny Things." The clip -- directed by Tim Nackashi (who also directed Death Cab for Cutie's "You Are A Tourist" live, one-take music video) -- is featured at , heralding the track's digital release on Tuesday, January 31st.
"ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT" arrives in stores and at all DSPs on February 28th via Canvasback Music/Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the album are available today at , with offers including the CD, vinyl, and a limited edition 2-disc box set.
Having earned international acclaim for their 2009 debut, "RESERVOIR," Fanfarlo has taken a grand leap forward with "ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT," incorporating new textures into their already eclectic sonic palette. Songs such as "Replicate" -- available now for free download at -- feature more experimental instrumentation than those found on the band's debut. The guitars are now electric instead of acoustic, while synchs and samplers have emerged in place of mandolins and glockenspiels. At the same time, "ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT" takes all the themes, musical and lyrical, of its predecessor and vastly expands them with all the confidence of a band gaining control of their aims and abilities.
"ROOMS FILLED WITH LIGHT" was produced by Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Gnarls Barkley) and engineered by award-winning producer/engineer David Wrench (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything, Beth Orton) at North Wales' Bryn Derwen Recording Studio.
Among the album's many highlights is the recently released "Deconstruction." NPR named the track as its influential "Song of the Day," hailing it for "pack(ing) an awful lot of winning ingredients into a little less than five minutes... Next year is only minus-three months old, and this is already one of 2012's best songs."
