ID: 1024

Taipei, Munich, October 1, 2008. ATEN International, leading designer and manufacturer of cutting-edge connectivity solutions, today announced that it will showcase its latest product innovations from the entry-level to enterprise-class product lines at SYSTEMS 2008 (Oct. 21-24). Direct from the stand, ATEN will show two application scenarios to demonstrate live the functionality and the benefits of its data centre management solutions to end users and channel partners.

(firmenpresse) - Facing growing IT infrastructures, companies of every size are looking for efficient, reliable and cost-effective connectivity solutions. ”Compared to 2007, we see a doubling of the demand for space- and power-saving LCD KVM products on the German market in 2008, and substantial sales growth in our high-end enterprise ALTUSEN product line,” says Jack Chen, Managing Director of ATEN Infotech N.V., Belgium. ”For the future we expect the market to focus even more on products with Over IP functionality and Cat 5 technology for saving precious rack space.”

Enterprise KVM Solutions in Live Demo
At SYSTEMS 2008, ATEN International presents its comprehensive product range to end users and channel partners in Germany. The connectivity specialist offers innovative server room management solutions such as analog Cat 5 KVM, remote KVM (KVM Over the NET™), serial device management, power and network monitoring and management solutions that will reduce complexity and costs of server and infrastructure management. The functionality of selected models of the enterprise-class ALTUSEN™ product line will be demonstrated live in two demo centres at ATEN’s booth (hall B1, stand 141/142).

Products on show will be the KH1516i KVM Over the NET™ offering remote control of all connected multi-platform servers, the SN0108 8-port Serial Over the NET™ switch for managing serial devices, and the PN0108 Power Over the NET™ control unit which provides power management for up to eight directly connected devices. In addition, products with Cat 5 capability such as the economical KH1508 8-port KVM switch and the KL1508, the world’s first Cat 5 LCD KVM switch to feature a dual-rail 19-inch LCD monitor and keyboard with built-in touchpad, will be part of the live application scenario.

Product Highlights on Display

About KVM Switches – An Essential Server Management Device
A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
