Sierra Leone Announces Bid Round on 29 December 2011
(firmenpresse) - FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- Pursuant to Section 30(1) and 32(2) of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Act 2011, the Sierra Leone Petroleum Directorate announces Sierra Leone's 2011/2012 Petroleum Bid Round for the following nine (9) blocks (SL-4A-10, SL-7A-10, SL-7C-10, SL-8A-10, SL-8B-10, SL-9A-10, SL-9B-10, SL-10A-10 and SL-10B-10), totalling about 21,242 km(2).
The bid round will commence on 29 December 2011 and end on 30 March 2012.
About 5,800 line km of reprocessed 2D seismic, 3,200 km(2) of 3D seismic data covering some of these blocks, well information and regional interpretation are available for purchase from the offices of TGS. Companies can also purchase data for some of the blocks. Other bidding documents and details of the process and criteria for evaluation of bids are obtainable from the Petroleum Directorate.
Oil companies are invited to evaluate our Hydrocarbon potential and bid for a block or blocks. We have a hybrid of royalty-tax and a carried interest for the National Oil Company with competitive rates.
This bid round closes at 12:00 noon on 30 March 2012 and bids will be opened at 12:05 midday at the conference room of the Petroleum Directorate, 43 Siaka Stevens Street, Freetown.
Government reserves the right to withdraw the bid round and is not bound to choose the highest bidder.
