Zacuto Releases New 'Scorpion' DSLR Camera Support Rig

The Scorpion combines a few familiar Zacuto accessories with a new shoulder support system guaranteed to be one of the best solutions to DSLR camera stabilization.
"There are two things that make the scorpion an awesome rig, balance and adjustability," says Zacuto Product Designer, Patrick Fee. "The large contoured shoulder pad is fully adjustable to fit any shoulder and our counterweight on the back balances the rig so perfectly that users can take their hands off of the grips and the rig will stay balanced on their shoulder. Another great feature is the quick release located at the front of the scorpion shoulder pad. With two quick lever turns you can release the whole shoulder pad and counter weight and go straight to shooting on a tripod."
The Scorpion's new form-fitting shoulder pad sets itself apart from other Zacuto DSLR shoulder mount rigs. The new Zacuto shoulder pad uses a permeable gel padding that conforms to any user's body providing maximum comfort for long shooting days. This unique design lets the user articulate the shoulder pad in multiple directions allowing the rig to fit any shooter's body type. While the shoulder assembly may be completely new, the Scorpion still utilizes the DSLR Baseplate, Z-Lite weights and other classic Zacuto parts, so owners of these Zacuto accessories can easily adapt their current rig into a Scorpion with the addition of the .
The Scorpion's collapsible handle is another time and space saving Zacuto feature. This handle can be used for lifting the rig onto your shoulder or for capturing low sweeping shots. When not using the handle, simply fold it up and tuck it away for a more compact camera stabilization system.
