Technology Solution Provides PACE Programs With Real-Time Connectivity to Enhance Prescription Ordering and Delivery Processes
(firmenpresse) - EDEN PRAIRIE, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 01/17/12 -- Mediture, a healthcare information technology company, and CareKinesis, a medication therapy management and pharmacy services firm, have partnered to develop web-based connectivity between Mediture's TruChart LIFE™ Electronic Health Record and CareKinesis's EireneRx™ pharmacy application to support Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations in managing complex medications for seniors. More timely and accurate communication between prescribers and consultant pharmacists will aid in selecting the best medication and managing complex medication regimens.
The solution includes a bidirectional interface between the two systems that provides a seamless experience for physicians and pharmacists. The interface specifications are based on the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) version 10.6 standards, ensuring that standards are in place for privacy and data integrity. More robust messaging functionality will include relevant clinical data and lab results pertinent to help decision support in real-time.
