Classen and Pergo present a joint FoldDown Package for the entire industry
The laminate flooring manufacturers Classen and Pergo are combining their patents for fold-down laying in a joint package.
(firmenpresse) - Kaisersesch, January 12th, 2010. Classen and Pergo have a great surprise, just in time for the major international flooring trade fairs at the beginning of the year. As of now, the two companies are combining their patents for fold-down laying, and marketing them jointly all over the world.
Pergo in particular has an extremely strong position in all the important variants thanks to its timely and comprehensive registrations for its PerfectFold technology. Classen has a number of legal judgments in its Megaloc patent family that have caused quite a stir in recent years. As a bundle, the two companies now have what is probably the strongest copyright package with a large number of technical solutions, as many laminate producers remained nervous about using this kind of laying technology in recent years.
“By bundling our rights, it is now easier to allocate licenses to all manufacturers. We are sure that this will be a major step forward in achieving the Pergo aim of making FoldDown the laying standards,” said CEO Ralf Eisermann on the new agreement with Classen.
Arne Loebel from the Classen group’s board: “Millions of square metres of our Megaloc have already been installed successfully on the market, and are delighting our customers. The situation is now getting really interesting for other manufacturers, as they move to make ‘just fold down’ the new standard in floor laying. We have the strongest package for interested licensees. This creates safety.”
Classen will be providing further information on this subject at the Domotex from 16-19 January 2010. At the same time as the Domotex, Pergo will be staging its first Pergo Tex trade fair at the SAS Radisson Messehotel and demonstrating more on this subject.
