University of Calgary: Faculty of Nursing's first research chair to tackle children's mental health

(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/19/12 -- Children growing up in families where one or both parents is depressed, has addiction problems, or is prone to violence, stand a one in four chance of developing mental health problems later in life. A new research chair in the University of Calgary's Faculty of Nursing - the first research chair in the faculty's history - is poised to help these vulnerable young people through innovative intervention techniques.
What: The Faculty of Nursing announces the first research chair in its 43-year history: the Norlien/Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation Chair in Parent Infant Mental Health.
