(firmenpresse) - YOSEMITE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/24/12 -- The 77th winter season at Badger Pass Ski Area begins Thursday, January 26 after recent snow storms dropped more than 24 inches of snow; making now the perfect time for riders and skiers of every level to plan a or ski trip to Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area has been operating as California's original ski area for family fun since 1935. With 10 slope runs and five convenient lifts, families can enjoy stress-free skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, all at a fraction of the cost found at other ski resorts. To help celebrate the season, DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite is offering several packages and season pass offers designed to help guests hit the slopes for less.
Skiers and riders can purchase passes for the 2011-12 season at $129 for adults and $79 for children through the end of the season.
To thank current season pass holders for awaiting the opening of the season, Badger is offering 35 percent off any 2012-13 season pass purchases.
"Two for Tuesday" -- Skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy midweek with Badger's new "Two for Tuesdays" deal, which offers two adult lift tickets for the price of one at $42.
Guests traveling to Yosemite National Park this winter can take full advantage of the season's best activities with the Stay N' Play package. For just $50 per adult and $30 per child, in addition to the room rate, guests can enjoy:
An all-day Badger Pass lift ticket and equipment rental
Group ski or snowboarding lesson
A snow tubing session
A two-hour Valley Floor Tour
An ice skating session
This package is valued at $174 for adults and is valid for mid-week, non-holiday stays at all DNC in-park lodging. Blackout dates may apply.
For those who may be new to winter sports, the Guaranteed-to-Snowboard/Ski package promises to have skiers and boarders riding Badger Pass' Bruin chairlift and cruising down the mountain on the first day -- if not, Badger will offer a voucher to come back and try again. This and ski package includes:
Equipment rental
A beginner lift ticket
A morning and afternoon group lesson
Packages are offered daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Guests must be aged 7 or older. Group lessons are scheduled on a first-come first-served basis each morning, so please arrive early.
In addition to these exciting packages, Delaware North operates two shuttle services to and from Badger Pass Ski Area. The first operates within Yosemite National Park and shuttles guests from the park's lodges to Badger Pass.
