Rural/Metro Awarded Contract to Continue 911 Ambulance Services in Rochester, New York
(firmenpresse) - SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 01/25/12 -- Rural/Metro Corporation, a leading national provider of ambulance and private fire protection services, was awarded the exclusive contract to continue providing 911 ambulance services to the City of Rochester, New York, on a vote last night of the Rochester City Council.
The new contract is scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2012 for an initial 4-year term, followed by two 2-year renewal terms thereafter, for a total possible length of 8 years. The award followed a competitive bidding process that included national and local providers.

Rural/Metro has served the citizens of Rochester since 1952, first as National Ambulance and then as Rural/Metro Medical Services beginning in 1994. The Company's Rochester operation is the only ambulance service in the region to be nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
