This release features industry-first, predictive "what-if" analysis to help enterprises proactively assess the financial and license compliance impact of hardware and/or software changes. FlexNet Manager Platform, , and can now perform what-if analysis, allowing organizations to simulate the effect of IT environment changes on their Oracle Processor, Microsoft Server Processor- and IBM Processor Value Unit- (PVU) based license positions before those changes are implemented. Organizations can calculate their resulting license position and the financial and license compliance implications by simulating:
Changes in hardware machine properties
Changes to shared processor pool settings
Changes to virtual machines properties
Addition or removal of new hardware machines, virtual machines or software installations

FlexNet Manager Platform now incorporates IBM Cognos technology to provide new business intelligence and reporting capabilities including multidimensional analysis, making it easy to report on complex data, track key indicators over time for trend analysis, and create custom reports. These capabilities are available through a dashboard, giving enterprises a centralized view to report on and analyze software optimization data.
