(firmenpresse) - ROCKVILLE, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 01/30/12 -- The (TCM), Maryland's largest technology trade association with more than 400 biotechnology and technology members employing more than 200,000 in the region, today announced that Art Jacoby, a TCM board member and managing partner at Maryland Cyber Investment Partners, will serve as the association's interim CEO.

"Art has been a tremendous asset to TCM for the last three years as an active member of our board of directors," says Larry Letow, chairman of TCM. "His energy, enthusiasm and results-driven professionalism are infectious. The TCM community is fortunate that he has graciously agreed to help us manage the organization."

Jacoby is expected to lead TCM for approximately three to five months, while the association seeks a permanent CEO to replace Renée Winsky, who left the organization late last year. Jacoby is an award-winning, well-known small business expert, who is based in Baltimore. He began his career doing economic research, moving into corporate planning and merger and acquisition responsibilities at companies such as Target Corp., Carlson Companies, Tonka Toys and The Aveda Corp. During the past 20 years, he has built a successful business growth consulting practice.

"I'm delighted to support TCM during this exciting growth period," said Jacoby. "IT and biotech are critical industries in our nation's economy, and TCM's educational programs, advocacy and business networking play an important role in expanding the opportunities for Maryland businesses in these high-paying job sectors. I look forward to serving TCM's dynamic membership, and encourage all technology companies in the region to become active in Maryland's largest tech council."

The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) is the largest technology trade group serving the advanced technology and biotechnology communities of Maryland. TCM's mission is to advocate for the interests of the technology community, further the role of technology in the Maryland economy, and nurture an environment where technology companies can collaborate, grow and succeed.
