(firmenpresse) - MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/12 -- DigitalTown, Inc. (OTCQB: DGTW) (PINKSHEETS: DGTW) is set to officially start its ad revenue sharing program on its hyper-local ad network with high schools March 1st, 2012 across its 20,000 plus high school spirit websites.

DigitalTown has long stated that it would offer revenue sharing to the high schools in its network and that day has now arrived. For the rest of the 2012 and 2012/13 school year, DigitalTown has committed up to 55% of its ad space for revenue sharing. The bulk will be distributed to local schools with a percentage to the NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association ). This is a "first of its kind program" that literally can touch every high school in the United States. Compared to other corporate programs that touch local schools where they have only a physical store location, the DigitalTown network touches almost all high schools with its 20,000-plus local websites.

This program is being released at a time when funding needs at high schools are at an all time high. Demand is so great for the program that DigitalTown expects it to take two to four years just to implement it across all schools. It should be noted that this is only for three sports in the network with 41,000 football, basketball and lacrosse teams now listed. The average high school has 25 sports and clubs. The spirit sites now post scores, schedules and rankings for all teams in a conference, section, state and country with each site cross-linked.

To meet the demand, DigitalTown is aggressively hiring and expects its employee count to triple by the end of 2012. As previously announced, full details will be included for the schools in its upcoming release of its benefits program for NIAAA members this February.

DigitalTown, Inc. in Burnsville, MN is developing a nationwide network of more than 20,000 local online communities for high school students, alumni, boosters and local citizens. For more information, please visit .
