More Corporate Executives Leaving Careers and Opting for Franchise Ownership in Minneapolis Area

(firmenpresse) - MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 02/09/12 -- FranNet, a national network of consultants that helps aspiring entrepreneurs start their own businesses, is expanding operations in Minnesota and has added Robyn Hartzell as an associate.

Hartzell knows what it's like to be a skilled worker who has been cut loose. A Minneapolis native, Hartzell spent 25 years in marketing and advertising working with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. But her job was cut during the recession.

Determined to find a position that offered more independence and enjoyment, Hartzell came to FranNet, where she gets to help other displaced workers start their own businesses and find their life's true passion. Hartzell will join the team led by Mike Welch, owner of FranNet Minnesota.

"It's great to be the captain of your own ship -- owning your own business, setting your own goals and finding your own success without having someone else tell you what to do," Hartzell said. "There are so many people looking for new directions because of the economy, and I think franchising is absolutely something to look at."

Hartzell, who graduated from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, will help people throughout Minnesota find the franchise that best fits their professional goals and personal lives.

In today's economy, the franchise industry is thriving and is a leader in job creation. Record numbers of corporate workers are leaving dwindling careers and opting for franchise ownership to provide a more stable financial future in uncertain times.

FranNet consultants give valuable and free advice to help potential business owners research and select a franchise system that meets their needs and fits their skill set.

"We're seeing everyone from sales people, midmanagers all the way up to senior level managers looking for advice," Welch said. "There are a lot of people who always wanted to own their own business someday, and they are finding that that someday is quite possibly now."

FranNet provides training seminars for outplacement firms and elsewhere, helping displaced workers transition, and holds informational events that help build awareness for the franchise industry in Minnesota.

Both Hartzell and Welch are available for commentary on entrepreneurship and business.
